Mixed Media Kiss the Cook Wall Sign

If you have been to our Etsy TheWoodGrainGallery Gift Shop lately, you may have noticed that we are continuing to expand our product lines.  We currently have 15 different categories but the category I want to talk about today is called Outside-the-Box Artwork.  We continue to add, unique, outside-the-box products to offer our customers more variety as we expand our woodworking shop capabilities.

Today, we will be discussing the “sold, one-of-a-kind” mixed media Kiss the Cook Kitchen Wall Sign. This was purchased as a whimsical wedding gift for the kitchen as it fit right into the new couple’s kitchen decor.

There are many moving parts to this piece.  The sign itself is made from an old reclaimed cutting board.  The fork and spoon were carved on our CNC machine and glued to the top of the cutting board after it was stained. The artist in our family business then hand painted the words, “Spice it Up….Kiss the Cook”.  Next, she went to her “go-to-box” of items that she has collected over the years from estate sales and garage sales and found the perfect salt and pepper shakers.  She then hand painted the letters “S” and “P” for the appropriate shakers and added some spilled salt on the board.  The piece was finished with a semi-gloss finish and a saw-tooth hanger was placed on the back for convenient hanging.

Although this particular piece has been sold, this artist welcomes your “ideas or visions” and would love the opportunity to create something very unique for you.  Browse around in the Outside the Box Artwork category for items that still are for sale OR you can fill out the contact form below and start a conversation.  Once the initial communication has been initiated, the two of you will work closely together and design that unique, one-of-a-kind piece for your home or business.  Thank you for taking the time to read our blog and we look forward to hearing from you.
